3 Cheese Penne pasta


3 Cheese Bacon Broccoli Penne Pasta Bake

1 pound Penne pasta

1 cup le Gruyere cheese shredded

1 cup Emmentaler cheese shredded

1 1/2 cup aged Cheddar shredded

1 1/2 cup milk

1 cup 1/2 & 1/2

4 TBL butter

3 TBL flour

1 small head of broccoli steamed and chopped

1/2 lb bacon cooked and crumbled

4 TBL chopped chives


1.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2.  Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente, drain

3.  melt butter in a large sauce pan

4. Whisk in flour until very thick then slowly add milk and cream until it comes to a low boil and thickens, stirring constantly

5.  Add cheeses (except 1/2 cup of cheddar) to flour milk mix and stir until melted

6.  Add Broccoli and bacon to cheese mix blend

7.  Add pasta to cheese mix and blend well

8.  Pour mixture into buttered 9×13 buttered baking dish

9.  Top with remaining cheddar cheese and chives

10. Bake covered 1/2 hour.  Bake uncovered 10-15 minutes until bubbly on top.
